Manisha Singh Rajawat ( Founder & Managing Director )
Manisha Singh Rajawat is the founder of MAAN-The Value Foundation. She has completed her Masters, B.Ed. and M.Phil. A devoted educationist and a social activist, she has been working for the upliftment of education for children, health and hygiene as well as the promotion of art and culture along with the empowerment of women. She had encountered an incident in her early life when she had chanced upon slum children trying to peep into a school. She later found out that they did not have even the barest essentials or economic support to attend school. Deeply moved by this incident, she tried her best to arrange some individual donations and this important situation became the base for her inspiration in establishing an NGO to look after the needs and wishes of the children who genuinely wish to gain an education but do not have the resources to do so. The present National Secretary of International Human Rights and Crime Control Organization as well as the Rajasthan Secretary of Sujas Sewa Sansthan and Gnarly Troop Foundation; Manisha Rajawat has a lot of experience in this sector and believes in reclaiming the glorious traditions and culture of the past. She has been honoured with various awards like the City Icon Award, Mumbai Global Achievers Award, Indian Trailblazer Award, Yuva Pratinidhi, Womania National Award, Jagruk women achievement award etc for her services.
Officially established in 2018, MAAN – The Value Foundation has been relentlessly working towards uplifting the vulnerable population of women and children as well as working for the betterment of healthcare and accessibility of education for children. Furthermore, the NGO also aims to promote the traditional art and culture so as to retain a part of the glorious past as an integral identity in the modern world. This belief stems from the valuing of “Sanskar” and “ethics” as the core of humane behaviour.
The NGO has organized many cultural activities like Gangore Utsav, Teej Utsav, Ghoomar Utsav to showcase the traditions of Rajasthan in the drive to preserve the slowly fading culture. The NGO also organized Galore in 2018 and also launched the Galore 2019 pre-event. Ghoomar workshops are another part of their initiatives to depict the cultural tapestry that connects to the very roots.
The basic aim of the organization, beyond preserving culture, is to aid the underprivileged children by helping them attain quality education and exposing them to the necessary opportunities. As a part of this, the NGO has renovated and reworked on a school in the slum area of Manoharpura; stocking it with all essentials and necessities to make it an ideal school for the children.
Women empowerment is another major motive of the organization. As such all the aims are intertwined in a manner that any cultural event that is conducted also contributes to offering aid to the vulnerable in the society. With these initiatives in place, the organization envisions a Golden India; rich with cultural values and bereft of poverty, pain and neglect.
The NGO was awarded for their contribution to education in 2015 and has also been honoured with the Abhinandan award in 2019.
