Mr. C. Narasimha Murthy is working as Secretary and Project Director in a Non-Profit voluntary organization (NGO) which is called, Abhivruddi – Society for Social Development in Tumakuru district in Karnataka since 1992. He has a master degree in Arts and has more than 23 years of work experience in the social development field. He has managed and implemented several foreign donor-funded, government, bilateral (World Bank and ADB) and Corporate funded projects for Rural and Urban Development in Karnataka. Being an expert in child labour issues, He was the state convener in the campaign against child labour in Karnataka. Mr. Narasimha is the present secretary - Lions club - Gubbi Talk. He has established a good rapport and contacts with various government departments, donors, corporate companies, etc. including World Bank, ADB, KUIDFC, ACIWRM, Watershed Development Department, Women’s and Child Development Department, Education Department, Labour Department, NABARD, ICICI, NABFINS, local self-government like Zilla Panchayath, Taluk Panchayath, Gram Panchayats, Community Based Organizations, etc., in Tumakuru, Hassan, Bengaluru and Chikkamagaluru districts. He has been heading various networks and federations and representing in local district level and state level government bodies for planning and implementation of government schemes/programmes, policy advocacy and policy formulation.
all sectors of society are connected to and dependent on each other. the development of all sectors together will promote growth and prosperity in the country. keeping this in mind, abhivruddi society for social development is a voluntary organisation working in the most drought-prone and backward districts of karnataka such as tumkur, hassan, bellary, bagalkot, chitradurga and also in rural and urban areas of bangalore metropolitan. it has been serving the society for more than 25 years. the organisation is dedicated to the development of children, women and the environment.
the goal of the organisation is to create a sustainable and humane society wherein all living beings have access to resources and manage their livelihood. they plan to achieve their objectives by empowering marginalised women and working tirelessly towards the protection of children’s rights.
the ngo aims to motivate progressive and mass-based organisations for alliances and networking for experience sharing and collective action on common issues relating to the poor and vulnerable section of society.
it also focuses on sustainable techniques of agriculture, community health and natural resource management. the organisation is involved in the implementation of various rural development programs such as the promotion of people’s organisation (shg), capacity building of village watershed committees, providing entrepreneurship awareness training to the shg members, promotion of traditional skills like a rural artisan, empowerment of women through capacity building and awareness programs, health and awareness programs for school children and plantation programs to educate people about the need for saving the environment.
the future objectives of the ngo include working in collaboration with national and international agencies for the benefit of the rural and urban poor, especially of children and women.
